gyllenhammar

ed. art proudly presents a collaboration with one of the most influential artists in the Swedish art scene for the past 20 years: Charlotte Gyllenhammar. Gyllenhammar works primarily with photography, sculpture and installation, but over the years has also developed a number of lithographic editions. These are now available on ed-art.se.

This autumn ed. art will launch our own Gyllenhammar edition, this time in classical intaglio printmaking technique. More on this after the summer!

The works currently on ed-art.se:

Självporträtt (Self portrait) is a multilayered work, printed as a lithograph in 1994, where Gyllenhammar has depicted herself seated at her desk, in front of a mirror, in the temporary studio she set up inside Carl Milles old studio at Millesgården. In her hand she holds a portrait of a relative, portrayed from all possible angles, a common method of photographic portraits in the 1800s.

Hjässa (Crown) is a tenderly drawn portrait of a sleeping child. This work was never turned into an edition, but exists only in a few proof copies.

The three images with the name Hänge (Pendant) all link to Gyllenhammar's recurring motif with decorated, falling women.
