About frames

During his long career, Kjell Anderson has had time to work through a whole variety of expressions. But the summary for all of them is an excellent sense of balance and composition. The permanent secretary of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Susanna Slöör, has described Anderson's work as layer upon layer of challenging balances and imbalances, joined to create maps of inner landscapes.

As a young man, Anderson studied to be a decorator. Only in his thirties did he get the chance to study at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm. Since then he has exhibited regularly throughout Sweden. In 1999 he participated in the prestigious Carnegie Art Award exhibition of Nordic art. In 2012 Anderson was conferred the Prince Eugen Medal by the king of Sweden, for distinguished artistic achievements.
