In his new lithographs, Roger Metto continues to explore the landscape around the place where he grew up; Kiruna. Plus a personal portrait of the artist's mother.

Roger Metto's childhood in the mountainous region of Kiruna has given him the urge to convey this vast landscape, with its overwhelming mountain masses along the horizon; from the city's location on a slope, the whole mountain world can be seen in a wide panorama in all directions. The paintings blend classical imagery with abstract elements - the inspiration comes from nature, but also from the challenges and opportunities offered by painting itself.
