Marcus Mårtenson's works make use of and reflect clichés from pop culture. It is a clean, graphic imagery with text as a fundamental part of the picture. References from the world of music are mixed with religion, medieval iconography with contemporary imagery. The energy level is constantly turned up to a maximum.
Marcus Mårtenson has a degree in religious studies and has received his artistic training at the art school Idun Lovén. He has exhibited in both Sweden and the USA and has made several public commissions.
