Timothy Crisp
b. 1981, Stockholm
The works of Timothy Crisp resemble delayed postcards. Memories of abandoned places, that suddenly emerge, many years after they were forgotten. But the remembrance is not a happy reunion, it is rather a reminiscence loaded with guilt. The viewer finds herself in a place robbed of its assets and deprived of its future. The living are uncannily absent; man is nothing but a memory.
Timothy Crisp graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm in 2008. In 2013 he added a year of printmaking to his studies. He has exhibited at galleries and art spaces since his graduation and received several stipends.
