Birgitta Muhr

Birgitta Muhr works with both sculpture and prints. As a printmaker, Birgitta has a clear connection to the origins of printmaking, that is book printing, even though in her case, it usually only results in unique prints. Her process is quick, as if she is playing her way to ready-made characters – letters that write themselves and bounce against both paper and ink.

Birgitta Muhr (b. 1961 Sundsvall) graduated from the Swedish Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 1992. Since then, she has worked on several public commissions, mainly as a sculptor. She had solo exhibitions at, among others, Moderna Museet and Grafiska Sällskapet in Stockholm and participated in around 30 group exhibitions.
