About Linn Fernström

Ever since her graduation from the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts in 1999, Linn Fernström (b. 1974, Örebro) has been an artist known far beyond art circles. The reason is certainly her suggestive and dreamy, sometimes morbid visual world. She herself often appears in the works, an alter ego who on canvas is subjected to suffering and cruelty that reality spares most people. Monkeys, parrots and leopards also populate Linn Fernström's visual world. Fernström also works actively with graphic prints and in 2008 and 2012 produced series of drypoint engravings.

Linn Fernström was active in New York during the 2000s, but is now back in Stockholm. In the fall of 2021, Liljevalch's new expansion will open with a large Linn Fernström exhibition.
