About Painting Practice

As an exploration of a shared painting practice, Astrid Kajsa Nylander and Helena Lund Ek have worked on and off for a year in the screenprint workshop at Konstfack. Together they have printed in large format (100 x 75 cm) on rag paper that can withstand repeated printing. In illuminated and unilluminated frames, the squeegee has been used as a painterly tool, both for printing freely and for repeating specific image elements.

Astrid Kajsa Nylander and Helena Lund Ek run Painting Practice, a forum for artists where they arrange talks, workshops, reading circles and exhibition visits as a contextualization of contemporary painting in the expanded field.
