About Jacob Dahlgren

Jacob Dahlgren's work revolves around the void between everyday objects and the compelling structures of abstract art. He finds patterns in the world around him, takes them out of context and turns them into abstract works. The strict requirements of conformity in the world of abstract art stand face to face with the intractability of life. Dahlgren's most comprehensive art work is his ongoing project to wear a striped t-shirt every day for the rest of his life.

Jacob Dahlgren (b. 1970, Stockholm) is one of the most prominent artists of his generation. His work has been exhibited around the world and in 2007 he represented Sweden in what is by many considered the world's most important art exhibition - the Venice Biennale.
