About Lisa Lundgren

Lisa Lundgren is drawn to pure fairy tales and symbols, where the difficult is made simple. Because it is the simple that is difficult. Stages and decor are recurring motifs, sometimes the actual objects and sometimes the idea of a stage or a piece of a life that is taking place. In the works, different pigments and shapes meet in an often two-dimensional image space on a raw linen canvas where the paint is applied in sheer, thin layers.

Lisa Lundgren (b. 1987) received her master's degree from the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm in 2019. Since then, she has established herself as part of a young generation of painters. She has exhibited around Sweden and been awarded a number of important scholarships.
