Andréa Hösel

Andréa Hösel is rooted in painting. Regardless of technique, method or expression, her work is based on the relationship to colours. Printmaking plays a specific role in her artistic process – intuitive and unconditional. The hand, chance and the eye together create an image where colours and forms coexist. It becomes an abstract idiom with contours and patterns that are added to the print subsequently.

Andréa Hösel (b. 1966, Stockholm) is educated at the Royal Institute of Arts in Stockholm and lives and works in the city. In the studio, she focuses on painting or builds large site-specific installations where different materials take on the role of color and shape in the room.
