Gudrun Åsling

It is clearly visible that Gudrun Åsling has a background in the world of textiles. Despite the hard angles of her abstract shapes, there is a softness in Åsling’s images, reminiscent of textiles. Since graduating from the School of Design and Crafts in Gothenburg in 1979, Åsling has moved between the painting and textiles, with exhibitions both on the applied arts scene and in the art world.

Gudrun Åsling (B. 1954, Ängelholm) lives in Sanna village outside Järvsö, after having spent most of her career in Gothenburg. She is the author of a number of public artworks in the city and her work can be found in the collections of the Röhsska museum.
