The artworks has been inspired by paintings created over the past year, focusing on capturing the unique shimmer of colors found in the forest environment. This series of images constitutes the first part of the ongoing project Terra Firma, which will be expanded with additional motifs after the turn of the year. The artworks included in the series are Nuolja, Smycken i skogen, En strimma ljus, Öppning, Källa, Grenverk I, and Grenverk II.

In these images, the drawing serves as the underlying framework—a structure that allows the artist to strive for a completely free balance of color. Here, Metto plays with the viewer’s gaze and perception; in the close-up study, the subject dissolves and becomes more or less abstract, just as it does in reality. Yet, when one steps back and views the image from a distance, the elements fall into place. That is when it becomes a forest.
