In Carin Ellberg’s new serigraphy Svämmar närmare (Floods closer), she explores movements and constituent elements, both large and small.

In Carin Ellberg’s artistic practice, associations and trains of thought often take physical form, with objects merging into one another in sinuous shapes. Although primarily known as a sculptor, Ellberg places the organism at the center of both her paintings and her sculptures. Ellberg is depicting small components on an enlarged scale, rendered in a palette of muted and sometimes burnt hues. This inspiration also resonates in Ellberg’s new prints, bearing the dreamy title Svämmar närmare (Floods closer).

The inspiration for the serigraphy Svämmar närmare comes from "movement in nature, immense energies in the universe or in tiny constituents — movements on both the grand and the minute scale.
