Astrid Kajsa Nylander paints with playfulness in strong colours, often on canvases that go beyond the traditional square shape and with colours far from earthy tones. The works often combine nostalgia and dark humor.
In the past years, she has had great success with the ongoing series "minijobs", which is based on memories of her grandmother's button collection. These small, geometric or flower-shaped paintings are simultaneously hyper-realistic and surreal, lustful and eerie.

Now Astrid Kajsa Nylander has made her first edition artworks - two serigraphs that connect to the "minijobs" series. The serigraphs are available in two colors in an edition of 25 each, all signed and numbered by the artist. They are produced at Atelier Landberg in Aspudden, one of Sweden's leading printers.

Astrid Kajsa Nylander received her MFA from the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg in 2018. The following year she was awarded the Stiftung Sparkasse Siegen prize for "Junge Kunst". She has exhibited in galleries both in Sweden, the USA and Germany. Her work can be found in, among others, the collection of the Moderna Museet.
