cyanotypi

cyanotype

Cyanotype is a photographic method from the 19th century that is still used today. We came along when artist Christina Henrysson made cyanotypes at KKV (Konstnärernas kollektivverkstad) in Farsta outside of Stockholm.

Chemicals are mixed

The paper is coated with the mix

Christina Henrysson sometimes arranges objects or materials on a plexi plate

The coated paper ready to be exposed in the lightbox

Exposure with UV light under way

The paper is rinsed and the exposed image emerges

The color deepens slowly

After rinsing, the print is put between two paper, under pressure, to dry and flatten

When the paper have dried, Christina Henrysson goes through the prints, finds interesting motifs and trims them to suitbale sizes.
