Artworks by C. Göran Karlsson
C. Göran Karlsson
b. 1944, Uppsala
"C. Göran Karlsson paints abstract in the straight-forward sense of the word. He abstracts a content retrieved from outside the canvas and reformulates it in the simplest way possible to fit its new two-dimensional home” writes former secretary of the Royal Academy of the Arts Susanna Slöör, in a text for the artist's exhibition at the Hishult Art Gallery in Småland. C. Göran Karlsson himself has, matter-of-factly, said "I paint what I think".
C. Göran Karlsson studied in the 1960s-70s at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm and has since exhibited around Sweden. His works can be found in the collections of the National Museum of Sweden and the Moderna Museet, among others.
