poetic mysteries

ed. art proudly presents new works by the internationally active Iranian-German artist Raha Rastifard, who now lives in Sweden. Her work ranges from photography to video, drawing, installations and printmaking. It always stems from her personal experiences, and is largely autobiographical. But through the use of universal symbols from her birth country, such as calligraphy and Sufi costumes, she opens up the reading of the works to a general level.

In her highly lyrical art, she creates works full of transcultural, poetic and historical art references. The process often resembles diaries where reality, dreams and fantasies intertwine.

On ed-art.se, several new series of prints are presented, all produced at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm, where Rastifard right now studying a further education in printing techniques.
