pajak during gallery weekend

During Gallery Weekend Stockholm, ed. art will show new prints by Anna Pajak. We're open the following hours:

Friday 11 Nov, 12 noon-8 pm
Saturday 12 Nov, 12 noon-6 pm
Sunday 13 Nov, 12 noon-4 pm

Saturday at 4-6 pm, you're extra welcome to Hagagatan for after art drinks.

As one of few young artists of today, Anna Pajak works with both painting and printmaking, but with a recurring theme as a keynote; making visible the voices that are not included in the patriarchal representation of language, words and themes. In Pajak's images, there is an underlying story, often taken from literature or art history. In dialogue with modernist female painters, spiritualism and dreams, she deconstructs and reconstructs the image to challenge traditional contexts and interpretations. The concrete and the abstract intertwine.

During her years at the Royal Institute of Art, Anna Pajak immersed herself in the techniques of printmaking and in 2021 she received the Queen Sonja Inspirational Award, a prize awarded to a newly graduated Nordic artist who works in an innovative way with printmaking. Working alternately with printmaking and painting has changed Anna Pajak's entire way of working and her mode of expression, according to the artist herself:

"Making prints, you work with controlled spaces, where the lines can begin to take up as much space as the colour. The work on paper gives the pictures a spontaneity and playfulness. By working with prints, I have developed new visual solutions.”

During Gallery Weekend, ed. art will show a number of new prints – polymer photogravures, etchings and one lithography – by Anna Pajak. Some in edition, others hand-colored and thus unique.

Anna Pajak (b. 1992) received her master’s degree from the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm in the spring of 2020 and subsequently, in a short time, has had several solo exhibitions and participated in a number of group exhibitions.
