New serigraphs by Mari Rantanen are now available at ed-art.se. The prints are presented in connection with new paintings that are part of the exhibition Flos Potentia at Konsthallen Hishult. Rantanen often works thematically with patterns that are repeated and varied. The themes behind the series Flower Power and Mind Map have been explored by Rantanen both in her painting and in her prints.

Petra Borgcrantz writes about the works in the Flos Potentia exhibition:

"Mari Rantanen's creative phase begins within, emotions are, together with knowledge, important building blocks when she creates her sparkling, meditative images. In times that she perceives as difficult to understand and dark, she enters the meditative flow of painting and during the work the opposites and contrasts are revealed. From what had been black, energies and colorful visions emerge, it's a little like closing your eyes after staring into a strong light.Through an emotional filter, she reevaluates what is called creativity, mathematical beauty and divine geometry, fusing ideas from all corners of art history, a field she masters and processes with rare determination, accuracy and finesse. Titles such as REMAKE THE WORLD and FLOWER POWER constitute a powerful declamation that speaks to us through the senses, that everything is possible to reshape with an alternative vision and with the power of light and color."

The exhibition Flos Potentia is curated by Mari Rantanen, and together with her, her former students – now colleagues – Maria Bajt, Anna Svensson and Susanne Vollmer are exhibiting. The exhibition runs until April 23.
