fernström

Cheer, all Linn Fernström fans! ed. art extends its collaboration with the artist, and can now present almost the entire Fernström printworks production online. Prints that have been hidden in drawers for years are brought out into the light.

Linn Fernström is perhaps best known for her colorful painting, but throughout her career, she has been almost as active in printmaking. Her sensitive, dry-point gravures have run as a parallel. Therefore we at ed. art are extra excited about our expanded collaboration with Linn Fernström, which enables us to present all available dry-points on the web.

About the editions
Linn Fernström works in a classic printing technique; drypoint. This means that the artist works directly on the copper plate with a sharp tool. When the ink is spread on the plate, it not only sticks to the lines created, but also to the ridges formed around the lines. This is what gives the drypoint its special soft character.

The prints are produced in collaboration with Siv Johansson, one of Sweden's leading printers and a master of drypoint. They are made in small editions of 25 prints. In some editions there is a single print left, in others a bit more. Certain editions are of course already sold out and are therefore not presented on the website. .
