During our month at Grev Turegatan 1, ed. art and Grafikens House want to take the opportunity to fill our temporary venue with as many exciting events as possible. Welcome to lunch talks, crash course in printmaking and finissage! Participation is of course free of charge, however held in Swedish.

Welcome to quick course in printmaking! What really is the the difference between a lithography and en etching? What are all the numbers and letters at the bottom of the artworks - EA, PP and all that? And why is the signature of a print so important? With examples from the exhibition, you get track of the basic terms in the graphics.

Joanna Hellgren and Nina Beckmann
Joanna Hellgren, cartoonist and illustrator talks with Nina Beckmann, CEO of Grafikens Hus. Joanna participated in Grafikens Hus’ touring exhibition "We have an important thing going - the art to change with images" (2013-14). In her exhibition at ArkDes 2012, she created the installation "Au pair", where she staged the characters, situations and environments based on her illustrated novels. This talk will focus on the room and the line. What happens when the illustration and printmaking turns into spatial representations? What is it in printmaking that caught Joanna, so much that she went and bought a printing press? Come and listen May 3 to learn.

Karolina Modig and Elisabeth Blennow Calälv
Karolina Modig is the author of the book ”Häng konsten lågt”, a personal journey into art collecting. Here, she raises questions about how to approach the art world, why do we like the art that we like and how do we choose. And why art critics never like the same thing as the inexperienced art viewer. Elisabeth Blennow Calälv is the founder of the ed. art, started with the goal of reaching out with art to more and to lower the thresholds to the art world.

Meet Ann Edholm, one of the big names in Swedish contemporary art, in conversation with Disa Rytt, an artist at the beginning of her career. As listeners we are invited to take part of the basic issues that concern artists everyday life. How do two artists from different generations approach abstract art? What does an artist want to express, when choosing to work completely non-figurative? What is the process before beginning a new work?

We celebrate the end of the pop-up gallery with AW and DJ. In addition, we take the opportunity to launch Cecilia Ömalm’s cyanotype Sea of ​​Tranquility. You can take a sneak peak at the artwork during the week, but Friday the 13th sounded like a fitting day to have the official launch!
