Technique: Serigraphy Edition: 300 Year: 1967 size, paper: 19 x 39 cm size, print: 19 x 39 cmOlle Bærtling is considered to be one of the most prominent artists of the Swedish post-war period. Like few others, he also managed to make a name for himself outside Sweden's borders. Shortly after his debut exhibition in 1949, Bærtling completely abandoned representational picture-making and worked with straight lines and fields of color, something he would stick to throughout his career.
He has come to be primarily associated with the triangular shapes that seem to protrude beyond the edge of the canvas and continue into infinity. He also came to work with sculpture and large public artworks, where art and space merged. Olle Bærtling is still one of our most well-known and widespread artists, largely thanks to his large production of fine art prints. The prints we sell are in commission from the Bærtling Foundation.
