Kerstin Berggren works with painting, prints, photography and sculpture. Her pictures are depictions of light – quest to depict a changing and vibrant light with color, often contrasted with a simple geometric shape. As a sculptor she uses glass, a material that in itself captures light, but where the light is even more volatile. The light's moement in the glass is the theme of her photographic images.
Kerstin Berggren studied painting at the Royal Academy of Arts, and has since added glass, architecture and photography courses. She has made several public art projects in Stockholm, Örebro, Kiruna and through purchases by, among others, the Swedish Arts Council, is represented in Stockholm, Uppsala, Västervik, Borlänge, Finspång and Addis Ababa.
